InfoSpace
InfoSpace requires support and leadership during unstable transition.
InfoSpace is a company headquartered in Bellevue, WA. They acquired a Mobile Platform and Content/Media Studio in Los Angeles, which was responsible for a majority of their $175 Million revenue. Stauffer was brought into InfoSpace to perform several product management functions. We assisted with product management, software development, and innovative and technology solutions. We were able to deliver excellent results under a very tough and dynamic environment that demanded time and time again to meet aggressive deadlines.
Several months later, InfoSpace announced a migration/sale, and the Los Angeles office would be shutdown. They reduced their operation from 150 people to 60 people. In addition many of the individual not on retention bonus quit so it made times very tough for the mobile company. InfoSpace leveraged Stauffer in several roles and capacities and we would shortly become a vital role to the success of InfoSpace in their last months of operation. Our team of engineers became a key resource in helping sell the LA Media Stuido to FunMoblility and migrating the remaining operations to the LA operations to Bellevue, WA.
After the sales of the Media Studio content business to FunMobility, our engineers were kept on board to help build a new royalty and accounting system for the new company. These assets were not provided to the new company so we had less than 3 months after the sale to pay out our licensors. In the end, we were able to grow our monthly revenues with the new entity (FunMobility) from about $500K to $1.2M after the acquisition through post-merger activities. After we completed the development/deployment of the royalty system/product, Stauffer’s team of engineers moved on to other projects with InfoSpace.
During our contract with InfoSpace our experienced professionals managed functional teams (product management, program management) and engineering teams (client architecture team). With our experience and knowledge of architecture, system configuration, source code and other operational aspects we became a key asset to InfoSpace and were maintained with the office until the end. We catered to their every programming needs from open-source technologies, to designing and maintaining software environments which included Java, Tomcat, MySQL, SQL Server, Sybase and other key technologies InfoSpace utilized.
